Eve's Apple

mercedo's Journal (2554)
Eve's Apple
2005.10.17 22:00
How beautiful this photo is!
This is similar to a human apple, if so there must have another one too. Since humans have two apples, one was originally eaten by Eve and soon by Adam. But this photo is not like Adam's apple, probably this photo shows Eve's apple.

The Signature I Got Curious
2005.10.14 2:39

That is otisaardvark's sig. The letters he wrote is the first 7 characters of Japanese alphabet, I used to write about the riddle of it in the article here and here.

Open Source Software
2005.10.12 18:05

Recently more and more I've been seeing characters like Linux, open source technology, open document, OSX, F/OSS components, F/OSS procurement, GNU project.
I tried writing down all these words none of which I can't explain. Something related to free software? Is it better than the one we have to buy?

Trivia II
2005.10.12 4:11

Logged-in users can only make a comment, so for the first time I saw the site I was unable to understand we were able to make a comment. This is something like a registered electorate is only eligible to vote -not 'vote' this time anyway.
Any user can be your own friend, this is like a ballot system, candidates can vote for their own.
These are two features that I found in this site.

Trivia
2005.10.11 17:39

About a year ago I started using /. jp site, this site embraces both from Technocrat.net & use Perl; sites, so the appearances are more similar to both sites than /. I found some differences in function among these sites.

mercedo's Journal (2554)
Journal Entry Less Active But..
2005.10.11 16:29

Seems nobody but for me are writing journals regulary right now, all numbers of entries seem just stopped. But I've found a number of contributers in discussions sections. Because some of them are very interesting.
I think the articles in Slashdot are sometimes too specialised so layman like me don't undersatand, but here it is easier for us like layman to get access to what they call technology - certainly 'Taking technology into our own hands'.
In the case of Slashdot, it's just too many entries in comments to the one article -usually more than 200, so nobody does understand somebody is really replying after reading someone's comment thoroughly. I want to make a comment when I find it interesting to do so. It's just so simple.
Related to The Birth of the Internet?
2005.10.11 16:04

Seems not only this site but other site as well started in a limited member in a limited circle at the same place- probably in a study of college, institute, etc.
This site started back in 1970, I was just 8 years old. Amazing!
Secret of Technocrat.net
2005.10.11 15:34
Look at the section - Top Posters By Friends, there are 24 people who's last updated date is 1970.01.01 9:00.
It was already 35 years ago, at that time there would be almost no people who knew what the Internet is -what occurred to those twenty users- I have nothing to know whereabouts.
Around as of July, last year 2004, abruptly number of users appeared in the list. I guess this site was sleeping for thirty four years then abruptly it woke up.
Now in the age of the Internet, this site will play an important role soon.
Interesting

I found some articles interesting , especially those posted by zogger. I sometimes visit this site and intend to make a comment when I find an interesting one.

mercedo's Journal (2554)

Journal of mercedo - vol. V is especially designed for storing mercedo's Journal (2554)Technocrat.net. Thanks.

Time Lag II
2005.10.05 4:12

Unfortunately it was not restored. At the sight of preview, the time was definitely correct the same as local time in JST and universal time in GMT, but once it was saved it is 7 hours behind the real time. Anyway that's what I noticed.
Time Lag
2005.10.05 4:05
Restored.
Time Zone
2005.10.04 14:47
I was trying to customise the timezone as JST. But it was behind 7 hours. I tried adopting all the time zones -sum was 60 but none of which showed the local time here.
GMT is still 7 hours behind. Which one is strange?
In Public Terminal
2005.10.04 11:44
My day's excursion ends up in reading and writing in a public terminal at the International forum located in the centre of town, beside me a woman from abroad is typing in blind touch usually people do like this? As a man who's not accustomed to typing it is just amaging.
A life of writer is much simpler than others would expect, almost all their lives are likely to be spent in their study, not in pub. I am just reluctant to visit a bar simply because people there smoke.
Unless varbalise my ideas, my brain is subject to eruption. Need to calm down before it erupts. Writers can't help being a writer because of its their nature, not from outside factors.
It's Cloudy Today
2005.10.04 6:14
I can't adjust timezone here, JST is supposed to be the Japan Standard Time I believe, but something different from the real time. Does somebody know which is correct?
Excursion
2005.10.04 3:27
I took two days off -today on the 4th and tomorrow 5th. I feel like going on a short excursion around here. I've not decided certainly where to go, though I feel like going to a hot spring behind the mountains. If I went there I will report to you how it was.
New Reality
2005.10.04 2:05

One week has passed since I ended my last duty. I've been facing a new reality. I just wonder how my body has been affected by a hard work, time to restore now.
New Frontier
2005.10.03 19:27
I think I can easily be a top contributer here in Technocrat.net. Fortunately there are many familiar names here so they are not foreign to me. Currently we cannot see freely someone's articles more than very recent 5 entries in Slahdot, I guess though I am not sure whether it's temporarily failed to show other than very recent ones simply it might be easily guessed that Slashdot has been having a kind of journal explosion, it is not starange for Slashdot to find difficulty in catching up with the recent explosion. For our part it would be recommended to use other alternatives like Technocrat.net or use Perl, both of which are very similar functionally to what it used to be Slashdot.
People, be wise!
Hello Everyone!
2005.10.03 18:35
I have learned a lot about humanities, but not about technology. I must say I am not a technocrat. That doesn't matter, I want to write a journal so I am.
